Goal of Blackhawk C3 Lab
The goal of the 3C lab is to get 21st century tools into students’ hands and engage them in tasks that require them to create and
design real world objects, collaborate in small and large groups, and compete against others. The 3C approach utilizes project-based learning that will ask students to solve real-world problems and connect skill sets across the STEAM content areas. Teachers in each of the STEAM content courses will develop a 3C project for their course next year. Whether the project is designing a bridge for a Physics course, mapping a protein strand in Biology, or creating a sculpture for 2D and 3D Art and Design, students will have access to groundbreaking tools to make their creations come to life. The lab will also be leveraged by community service-oriented and extra-curricular organizations such as our nationally recognized TSA organization. Facilitators will embrace best practices while creating and developing projects that make use of the 3C lab. They will participate in an online professional learning community through the Autodesk
STEAM Curriculum portal. The success of the 3C lab will be documented via a blog and the lab will be evaluated by bi-annual student and teacher surveys.
